After All This Time by Raimee

all

This is the first full-length album from Greensboro melodic hard rock band, Raimee. With a sound that should grab the attention of fans of Nightwish or Within Temptation, After All This Time delivers a listening experience that should not be missed.

The order of the track listing appears to have been very well thought out; each track flows effortlessly to the next and there’s never a feeling that something is in the wrong place. This creates a cohesion and flow that would be expected from some of the more nationally known professional acts. Each song seems to have its place, and feel differently enough from each other so as to not sound repetitive, but still sound like they fit together within the overall context of the album like chapters of a greater story.

After All This Time opens with the title track of the same name.  This fitting title track sets the pace for the album and really showcases what the band is about: beautiful guitar melodies, driving bass lines, aggressive but never over-the-top drum work, and powerful, almost ethereal vocals.

The songs “The Sacrifice” and “Wake Me Up” show a very mature songwriting sensibility by slowing things down but never interrupting the overall flow of the album. These welcomed ballad-style songs feature emotional and introspective lyrics that are sure to tug at the heartstrings of the listener.  After All This Time closes with “The Scientist,” a very bass-driven and upbeat song that displays just how versatile Raimee is capable of being.
